The stack was rebuilt and the joint between it and the roof formed in new lead of the correct code: soakers between the tile courses, stepped flashing raked into the bed joints, an apron across the front and a gutter behind. That joint is where water gets into a chimney nine times out of ten, and it is worth doing properly on a stack this new.
